Datti Baba-Ahmed contested the 2023 presidential election as the running mate of Labour Party flag bearer, Peter Obi

The vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25, 2023 election, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has said the current economic hardship witnessed under President Bola Tinubu is a fallout of the outcome of the poll.
He made this known on his X handle while reacting to the various protests going on in the country over rising cost of living.
TheNiche had earlier reported that the current economic hardship in Nigeria led to outbreak of protests in some parts of the country.
Youths in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Monday took to the streets to protest against the Tinubu-led government, as they carried placards with different inscriptions such as ‘End food hike and inflation’, ‘The poor is starving’ and ‘Tinubu, don’t forget your promises’, amongst others.

Prior to this, similar protests had taken place in Kano State and Minna, the Niger State, capital.
Speaking about the development on his social media page on Tuesday, Datti Baba-Ahmed described the hunger in the Nigeria as the consequences of the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.
“This is the fastest election consequences I have ever seen since I was born. It took only eight months for everything to crumble.” he tweeted
