Customs shortlists 1,543 successful candidates for recruitment

Customs recruitment will boost the number of men available for service after experiencing a dearth of servicemen for years

The Nigeria Customs Service has released a total of 1,543 names of successful candidates for enlistment into the Service after completion of its screening exercise.

Giving a breakdown of the release of new intakes to TheNiche, spokesman for the service, Comptroller Joseph Attah said 429 applicants succeeded to be enlisted on grade level 8; another 397 on grade level 6; and 469 on grade level 4 while 253 on grade level 3.

Comptroller Attah said: ”The shortlisting followed a recruitment exercise that started with online applications, computer-based examination and screening exercise. It is important I state that the selection was strictly based on merit spread across each local government of the federation.”

While advising members of the public and prospective applicants to beware of fraudulent individuals, Attah said the process does not require any monetary payment by applicants and that no payment be made to seek for customs job.

He added that the listed candidates are required to report to the office of the Comptroller Establishment of the Service at Old Federal Secretariat, Area 1, Garki, Abuja from Monday 8 November to Tuesday 7″ December 2021 for documentation.

He added that they are to come along with the following under listed documents

Original Certificates
Indigene Letter
Birth Certificate/Declaration of Age
Four (4) photocopies of each of the credentials
Four (4) passport photographs


He said those who have not documented by the 7th of December will be deemed to have rejected the offer. Shortlisted candidates are required to complete their documentation before the expiration of the deadline

He also disclosed that the Nigeria Customs Service recruitment portal, www.vacancy.gov.ng will be opened between Monday 13 to Friday 24 December 2021 for the supplementary recruitment exercise
