Customs names new management team, promotes six senior officers

The federal government has approved the  promotion of some top brass of the Nigeria Customs Service.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in a statement approved the appointment of the Deputy Comptroller Generals and  Assistant Comptroller Generals  respectively.

Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Custom , Abdullahi Maiwada in the statement on Friday, 28 July 2023, quoted the Comptroller General of Customs.

Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, urging the newly promoted officers to redouble their efforts to ensure the Service achieves greater heights in its mandates of revenue generation, suppression of smuggling and trade facilitation.

The newly promoted officers are DCG FO Okun, DCG MBA Musa, DCG A Hamisu, ACG K Olumoh,ACG AB Mohammed and ACG A Alajogun.

According to the statement, no positions have been assigned to the newly promoted top ranking officers of the service.

The statement added that” Following the appointment of the Acting Comptroller General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR on 19 June 2023 and the retirement of some management members in the Service, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic Nigeria, President Bola Ahmad Tinubu GCFR has approved the appointment of the following Deputy Comptroller Generals (DCGs) and  Assistant Comptroller Generals (ACGs):

“While thanking the retired members of the management for their meritorious service, the Acting Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR congratulated the newly appointed Officers and charged them to redouble their efforts to ensure the Service achieves greater heights in its mandates of revenue generation, suppression of smuggling and trade facilitation.”
