The Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja, has removed the state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Deji Doherty. In his stead is Adegbola Dominic.
The suit that removed Doherty was filed by Dominic, challenging the special congress of the party that was held in November 2019.
But in the judgement presided by Justice Oyekan Abdullahi, the court held that the 1st claimant, Dominic, was duly appointed to serve out the term of his predecessor, Moshood Salvador, who resigned.
Only recently, the Lagos PDP closed ranks on a reconciliation effort spearheaded by the National Reconciliation Committee chairman, Bukola Saraki, who was Nigeria’s former senate president.
Lagos party spokesman, Taofik Gani, welcomes the development, saying the party would comply with the court judgment.
