Council imposes 24-hour curfew to curb killings

The Sanga Local Government Council of Kaduna State on Wednesday imposed a 24-hour curfew to check the wave of killings and rising tension in the area.

 

 

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that no fewer than 38 persons were killed on Monday night in Kabamu and Ankpong villages in Sanga LGA during an attack by gunmen.

Chairman of the council, Mr Emmanuel Adamu said in a statement in Kafachan that the curfew was imposed to forestall further loss of lives and restore normalcy.

The chairman in the statement added that more lives were lost before 6p.m. on Tuesday, adding that the development further increased the tension.

 

 

Adamu urged the people of the area to remain calm as security operatives were on top of the situation.
