Mr. Ibu who was allegedly poisoned at an event, refuted the claims, saying it happened in his hometown, he has now resumed acting

Nollywood comic actor and comedian John Okafor, professionally known as Mr. Ibu, who has been indisposed, has now been discharged from the hospital.
The actor who said he was allegedly poisoned at an event has also resumed his acting duties.
In a video released on social media after he left the hospital, he was seen on set with the likes of Charles Awurum and others.

However, contrary to reports that the much-loved comic actor was poisoned at an entertainment event in Abuja, Mr. Ibu has disclosed that he was poisoned during one of his numerous trips to his country home in Nkanu West, Enugu State.
“I was poisoned, but not at an entertainment event in Abuja. I was poisoned in my hometown, and then I journeyed to Abuja, where the poison affected me and grounded me. At a point, I almost gave up, but God said. No, you are not going to give up. And here I am. I have been discharged”.Mr. Ibu said.
Fans and the online community have been jubilating since the video of the actor on set surfaced online, with some fans advising him to stop visiting his hometown, to avoid a recurrence
The 60-year-old actor is one of Nigeria’s most talented comic characters. His amusing and witty gestures constantly send fans into fits of laughter.
Many admire his acting which is often characterised by acts of silliness and hilarious gestures.
The comedian has featured in over 200 Nollywood movies, such as Mr. Ibu, Husband Suppliers, International Players, Mr. Ibu in London, Keziah among others.
