Chris Cuomo, CNN anchor, has been suspended after he was indicted by the New York legal department for helping his brother cover up his sexual scandal
The Cable News Network (CNN) said on Tuesday, that it has suspended the primetime anchor, Chris Cuomo, indefinitely, after he was indicted by the New York legal department.
The release of legal transcripts showed Chris Cuomo actively helped his brother Andrew, the then governor of New York, to combat allegations of sexual misconduct.
The former New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo became the toast of the American public and a reference point during the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
His ratings soared to new heights of popularity, due to the way he was believed to have handled the pandemic and his frank daily briefings, as the coronavirus ravaged New York.
But he has since gone from hero to zero after he was accused of sexual misconduct by several women, some of who worked with him. He has since resigned from office and was replaced by Kathy Hochul
In October, the 63-year-old former governor was charged with a misdemeanor sex crime for forcible touching.
Latest revelations have now shown that his 51-year-old brother, Chris Cuomo, has also been indicted for his role in trying to cover up his brother.

“The New York Attorney General’s office released transcripts and exhibits Monday that shed new light on Chris Cuomo’s involvement in his brother’s defense,” a CNN spokesperson said Tuesday.
“The documents, which we were not privy to before their public release, raise serious questions.”
The spokesperson said while CNN had “understood his need to put family first and job second” in aiding Andrew, it said the transcripts released by state Attorney General Letitia James “point to a greater level of involvement in his brother’s efforts than we previously knew.”
“As a result, we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation.”
The brothers are the sons of former New York governor Mario Cuomo.
On Tuesday, Cuomo’s show was replaced with a second hour anchored by Anderson Cooper. The network’s long-term plan for filling the time slot was not immediately clear.
