Chimamanda Adichie shares throwback photo to mark 45th birthday

Nigerian writer, whose works include novels, short stories and nonfiction, and was once described in The Times as “the most prominent” of a “procession of critically acclaimed young anglophone authors” turned a year older.

The beautiful writer took to her Instagram page to share a lovely throwback photo of herself when she was just 16 and took her followers down memory lane.

Chimamanda who turned the new age today, September 15, left her fans gushing when she ditched an ideal celebration of a photoshoot for a picture of when she celebrated her 16th birthday.

In the throwback picture, the award-winning author looked pretty, calm and innocent as she noted that the 16th birthday party happened in Nsukka.

Chimamanda captioned the photo, “On this day, 29 years ago, my sixteenth birthday party in Nsukka.”

After the now-viral post, Nigerians trooped to her comment section to shower her with lovely wishes on her special day. 

A netizen identified as Poetbyimpulse wrote,  “Not Chimamanda giving us maths homework on her birthday.” 

Another IG user, d=Duruemglory2: said, “Happy birthday my queen, May all of the beauty you have shared with the world continue to inspire people.”
