The #BringBackOurGirls group has warned government agencies, groups or individuals who may work for the rehabilitation of the parents of the Chibok girls or any other related issue not to exploit the opportunity to steal their money.

Speaking at the group’s sit-out Monday after receiving information that the Federal government was planning certain packages of rehabilitation and welfare for the parents of the abducted girls, a member of the group, Fati Abba Kaka said that it would be wrong for anyone to use the opportunity as a conduit pipe to siphon the funds meant for the welfare of these grieving parents.

”From what I understand, there was no letter. If there was a letter, the minister of women affairs would have brought it instantly to the Banquet Hall when we visited the President. KADA has to be careful so that people would not use the issue of the Chibok girls to make money.

“Many people have made billions from local, state, federal and individuals because of the Chibok girls’ parents. They use the parents as a conduit pipe to siphon money. I am hoping that with the type of President we have, this cannot be allowed,” she noted.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Women Affairs Aisha Alhassan has failed to release the letter she allegedly claimed to have written, inviting the BBOG for partnership.

According to the Chairman of Chibok community in Abuja Tsambido Hosea Abana, who visited the minister, said she would be dealing directly with the parents of the abducted girls, hence, the reason for the withdrawal of the alleged letter to the group because she was instructed not to deal with BBOG.

One of the leaders of the group Aisha Yesufu, who was actually called out by the minister as an intermediary between the minister and BBOG, noted that the group only demanded for the letter because the minister spoke on national media that a letter of colloboration was sent to them. She added that since the letter has now been withdrawn, the group now knows that no letter was actually sent in the first place.

”We are an advocacy group. When the minister of women affairs spoke at the villa, everyone believed her. My integrity was involved concerning the letter. Now, we are hearing that the minister has got orders from above not to deal with the BBOG, but with the parents. It is worrisome but everyone should know that our focus is the Chibok girls. We simply want the rescue of the girls,” she stated.
