Chelsea host Man City in pivotal clash that could shape EPL title race, top-five battle

Chelsea, who are currently four points behind Liverpool in sixth place on the Premier League table, will move within a point of the Reds if they beat Man City.

West London outfit Chelsea welcome Manchester City on Sunday evening in a match that could prove pivotal in both the league title and Champions League qualification races.

The highly anticipated encounter is expected to kick off at 4:30 pm Nigerian time at Stamford Bridge.

The reverse fixture ended in a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium. However, Chelsea head into this game following a resounding 7-0 win against Port Vale in the FA Cup quarter-final.

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior will be without Trevoh Chalobah, Levi Colwill, and Reece James against the Cityzens due to injury.

Furthermore, Blues assistant captain Enzo Fernandez will not feature for the home team, but Estevao Willian is in contention to start his first Premier League game since 2 February.

As for Man City, they enter the fixture following an emphatic 4-0 thrashing of Liverpool in their own FA Cup quarter-final.

Pep Guardiola will, however, be without the services of central defenders Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol due to injury.

Man City, currently in second place, will cut the gap to leaders Arsenal to six points—with a game in hand—should they defeat Chelsea.
