Chelsea have beaten Manchester City to lift the 2021 UEFA Champions League cup for the second time in the club’s history.
The goal which was scored by Kai Harvetz in the 42nd minute after he received a pass from Mason Mount was the only goal of the game.
Chelsea had earlier in the season beaten Manchester City in the FA Cup semifinal and a league match.
By this outcome , Manchester City that had earlier won the 2020/2021 Carling Cup and league title have missed the oppourtunity to lift the champions league for the first time in the history of the club.
The all English finals lived up to expectation as the two clubs tried all they could to outwit each other but it was chelsea and their coach Thomas Tuchel who came out victorious.
The Chelsea coach , who was on the losing side in last year’s final of the competition was obviously elated this time around.
Attention will now shift to EURO 2021 where most of the European countries that qualified and their players will be jostling for more honours.
