Sgt. Godwin Oriabure, who is the police prosecutor, said Ebere stole the items on September 20, at No. 40, Tejuosho road, Surulere, Lagos.

The police prosecutor said Ebere sneaked into the gym when walkout and other aerobic exercises were going on and stole stole six pairs of shoes, three jerseys and four towels, all worth N80, 000.

The police prosecutor said Ebere has, however, sold off the items he stole from the gym.

He argued that Ebere’s crime contravened the revised provisions of Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015 which stipulates a three-year jail term for offenders.
