Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has stated that La Liga giants, Barcelona, cannot win this season’s UEFA Champions League (UCL) trophy.
He made the assertion on Tuesday night while featuring as a guest on CBS Sports.
Barcelona thumped Greek club, Olympiacos 6-1 at home on Tuesday night. Fermin Lopez, Lamine Yamal, and Marcus Rashford were among the goalscorers.
Hansi Flick’s side reached the Champions League semi-finals last season, where they were defeated by Inter Milan.
Carragher, however, has now ruled out Barcelona’s chances of winning the Champions League this season, insisting that their defence is not good enough.

He questioned how their back line would cope when they meet elite teams such as Arsenal, PSG, and Bayern Munich.
“They [Barcelona] lost [in the Champions League last season] through naivety, really, maybe having a lot of young players,” Carragher said.
He added, “When you look at the back four who played tonight [Kounde, Cubarsi, Garcia and Balde], I’m not sure this back four can win the Champions League.
“It is not just about playing with a high line, which gives them problems as well.
“Whenever you watch them, you always feel the opposition has a chance. It is not just how they set up tactically.
“I am not quite sure the defenders are good enough when they come up against a real elite team like Arsenal, PSG and Bayern Munich.”
