Nigerian singer, songwriter and fine artist, Nissi Ogulu, better known as Nissi, has revealed why she decided to sign for her brother’s record label, instead of picking one without any blood ties.

The 29-year-old, who is the founder of Creele Animation Studio made the disclosure during a recent interview with media personality and lawyer, Chude Jideonwo.

She went on to say that while there is no perfect record label in the world, it is very important to work with people who believe in one’s dream and are ready to fully support such a vision.

Speaking during the chat, Nissi said, “I think for me at that time, it was a good decision. You have to always weigh the pros and cons to select what you think is best for you.

“At some point, I didn’t want to be a part of the label, so I told myself why not try something different? You are running away from your blood, these are the people you love the most and no one else will have your back as much as your family.

“It has never been a competition and it will never be. There’s no label that is perfect but having people who believes in you and are ready to support and understand your vision is priceless.”
