Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has generated a buzz online after asserting that Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti, is the only African artist greater than him.
The ‘Last Last’ crooner made the claim during a recent livestream with popular Australian streamer, Playboymax.
Speaking on the show, Burna Boy said, “He [Fela Kuti] is the king. He is the only one [African artist] who is greater than me. He is the only one.”

While Burna Boy is currently one of the biggest artists in Africa, the hierarchy of the greatest African artists in history remains a debate.
