President Muhammadu Buhari will today swear-in Prof. Mahmood Yakubu as the Chairman and five others as National Commissioners of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The swearing-in of Prof. Yakubu, Mrs. Amina Zakari, Mr. Solomon Soyebi, Prof. Antonia Okoosi-Simbine, Dr. Muhammed Mustafa Lecky and Alhaji Baba Shettima Arfo is scheduled for 11am in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa.
Similarly, Buhari will preside over the swearing-in of the ministers-designate and inaugurate a new Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday.
Mr Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, said in a statement that the swearing-in ceremony will begin promptly at 10am while the ministers-designates are expected to be seated in the Council Chambers at 9:30am.
Before the commencement of the inaugural session of the council, the ministers-designate will take their oaths of office in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa.
Adesina added that each minister-designate could only be accompanied to the swearing-in ceremony by a maximum of two guests.
