Buhari presents 2022 Appropriation Bill 12noon Thursday

President Muhammadu Buhari will present the 2022 Appropriation Bill to the National Assembly on Thursday.

The presentation, which will be made during a joint session of both chambers, will take place at 12 noon. 

Buhari made this known in a letter dated October 5, 2021, which was read during plenary on Wednesday by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.

The letter titled “Presentation of 2022 Appropriation Bill”, reads: “May I crave the kind indulgence of the Distinguished Senate to grant me the a slot of 12:00 Hours on Thursday, 7th October, 2021, to formally present the 2022 Appropriation Bill to the Joint Session of the National Assembly.

“Please, accept, Distinguished Senate President, the assurances of my highest regards, as I look forward to addressing the Joint Session.”

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday approved the proposed 2022 Appropriation Bill, valued at N16.39 trillion.

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, disclosed after the FEC meeting that the Federal Government would be financing the N6.258 trillion deficits in the proposed 2022 Budget with domestic and external loans.
