Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari lost his appetite after about 25 Muslim travellers were killed in Jos, Plateau.
Pantami made the comment while commiserating with an Islamic over the dastardly act.
Pantami said: “The president had since directed that the perpetrators of the attack be fished out and prosecuted…he had just returned from a journey, and as matter of fact, the president could not even eat food.”
Some Nigerians have wondered if the president also loses his appetite when the killings affected non-Muslims.
For a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on social media, Reno Omokri, the comment of Pantami was troubling.
He says: “Pantami’s claim that Buhari could not eat because Muslim travellers were killed is troubling. I was one of the first to condemn the killings. However, Buhari never stopped eating when Christians were killed. Human life should not be valued according to their religion.”
