Buhari mourns niece Laraba in Daura

Buhari flew to Daura on Wednesday after his visit to Guinea Bissau where he was given the highest national honour by President Umaro Embaló.

President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with his extended family members on the death of his niece, Laraba Dauda.

The President’s niece is survived by several brothers and sisters, including Mallam Mamman Daura, Buhari’s nephew who was in Daura to mourn the dead with other family members.

She also left behind children and grandchildren.

In a statement on Thursday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Garba Shehu, President Buhari described the late Laraba as ”caring mother, full of life and witty who was very passionate about the welfare of her family.”

”Her passing away is saddening but Allah knows best. My condolences to all those she left behind. May Allah repose her soul,” the President added.

Buhari flew to Daura on Wednesday after his visit to Guinea Bissau where he was given the highest national honour by President Umaro Embaló. Buhari also got two major roads named after him. The country’s new presidential villa which is under construction will be named after Buhari as well.
