Buhari felicitates with veteran journalist, Ado Daura on 65th birthday

Ado Daura, a retired Editor-in-Chief of NAN, marks his 65th birthday. Buhari hails him as a journalist with integrity

President Muhammadu Buhari has hailed veteran journalist,  Lawal Ado Daura, a retired Editor-in-Chief of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) as he marks his 65th birthday.

In a message to the veteran journalist, President Buhari commended his intellect and insights and praised him for distinguishing himself in the world of media as well as public affairs.

The President noted that the younger generation of journalists in the country has a lot to learn from the deep knowledge and objective writings of veterans like Lawal Ado to fight against the divisive forces in the country.

He wished him many happy returns in good health.

Ado Daura, on his Linkedin page, said he had worked with M.D. Abubakar when he was a Police Commissioner in Jos in 2001 and realised that he was a fine officer, a gentleman and a strong believer in his work and the will of Allah.

“He is a detribalised Nigerian who spent his personal resources for the benefit of the service. One most important thing about him is that many police officers believe in his ability and capacity to lead them as their Inspector General of Police,

“MD is a fine officer and I recommend him to anybody who is interested in efficiency, dedication, forthrightness and capacity in fighting crime,” he said.
