South Africa head coach, Hugo Broos has named a 23-man squad for Bafana Bafana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Warriors of Zimbabwe.
Prior to this, the Belgian tactician last week unveiled a 36-man preliminary squad for the two encounters, but has now dropped 13 players from the initial list.
Regular stars who made the list released are team’s captain and goalkeeper, Rowen Williams, Al Ahly forward, Percy Tau and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teboho Mokoena.
Other are Siyabonga Ngezana, Relebohile Mofokeng and returnee Lyle Foster are the standout new faces.
There was, however, no place for Evidence Makgopa, Mihlali Mayambela Tapelo Xoki and Thabiso Monyane.

South Africa will face the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, June 7.
They will then host regional rivals, Zimbabwe at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein four days later.
Bafana Bafana currently sit in second place in Group C with three points from two games.
