Crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deepened on Friday with a faction naming Alhaji Yayari Ahmed Mohammed as its new Acting National Chairman.

This decision comes after the suspension of Amb. Illiya Damagum, who previously held the position by a faction of the party. It also comes on the heels of a ruling by Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja restraining the National Executive Committee (NEC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party from removing Umar Damagum as the Acting National Chairman of the party.
