Africa’s largest economy, Nigeria, has extended its lockdown by one week in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun states.
Its President, Muhammadu Buhari, in a nationwide broadcast on Monday, April 27, 2020, said that the extension would come into effect immediately and ends on May 4, 2020.
The president also declared a two-week lockdown of Kano State, while banning inter-state vehicular movement nationwide to curtail the pandemic.

Buhari said that the West Africa nation’s approach to the virus remained to protect the lives of Nigerian residents and preserve the livelihoods of workers and business owners.
The president also made wearing of face masks compulsory.
