Monday Okpebholo sworn in as Edo governor

Monday Okpebholo has officially assumed office as the Governor of Edo State, following an inauguration ceremony held on Tuesday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
The event saw Okpebholo sworn in at 12:56 pm, with Dennis Idahosa also taking the oath of office as the Deputy Governor earlier at 12:43 pm.

This inauguration follows the pair’s victory in the state election, where Okpebholo secured 291,667 votes, defeating PDP candidate Asue Ighodalo, who received 247,274 votes, and Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata who garnered 22,763 votes.
Dignitaries at the event included Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Edo’s reinstated former deputy governor Philip Shaibu, and several other APC governors.
