Ronaldo and Modric — Luka Modric has said his former Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo told him he deserved to win the 2017-18 UEFA Player of the Year award.

Luka Modric has been announced as the winner of the 2018 FIFA Best Player of the Year Award.

The award was announced by FIFA president, Gianni Infantino.

Nominees in the category included Cristiano Ronaldo and Mo Salah.
