Leicester has humbled Manchester City with a 5-2 trashing of the Pep Gurdiola side at the Etihad stadium.
Riyad Mahrez, the Leicester’s former player, had put the hosts ahead after only four minutes, smashing a sublime first-time strike into the top corner, with his weaker right leg.
The celebration did not last long when Jamie Vardy equalized through a penalty before the half time break.
The resumption of the second half saw a more determined Leicester side, which soaked all the preasure from Man City before hitting them with four additional goals. Vardy scored two more, making it a hat-trick.
James Maddison nestled an excellent 25-yard strike into the top corner to seemingly put the result beyond doubt – but Nathan Ake headed in his first Manchester City goal to offer a glimmer of hope.
That hope was extinguished just four minutes later, though, as – with Vardy substituted off – Youri Tielemans scored Leicester’s third penalty after Maddison was pulled back by Benjamin Mendy.
Sunday’s defeat was the first time Manchester City side has conceded five goals in a home game since February 2003.
Vardy is the first player to score a Premier League treble against Pep Gurdiola’s side since he also did so in December 2016.
The 33-year-old striker was last season’s top scorer.
Brendan Rodgers’ side move top of the table following a third successive win to start the season.
