Late Pastor Odukoya’s son, Jimi, becomes church’s general overseer

Jimmy Odukoya, the first son of the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, has been declared as the new General Overseer of the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos.
Jimi Odukoya also assumed the office of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Church as announced by a member of the Board, Pastor Rotimi Okpaise, on Sunday.
Pastor Taiwo Odukoya died on August 7 in the United States, and buried this month.
His first son will take over as the senior pastor officially from September 30.
During the service, Pastor Okpaise revealed that the late Taiwo Odukoya had shared his succession plan with the board of trustees before he passed away.
Okpaise said the BoT unanimously elected Jimmy as the senior pastor and chairperson of the board.
“The board has chosen Saturday, September 30, 2023, as the date of Jimmy’s installation,” he said.
Taiwo Odukoya died at the age of 67.
He died less than two years after losing his wife, Nomthi, a South African, on November 9, 2021, following a two-year battle with cancer.
“Pastor Jimmy is now our senior pastor and he is the chairman of the Board of Trustees,” the board member said to the cheering congregation.
Jimmy, who is a Nollywood actor, got his education at the Oral Roberts University, United States.
His sister, Tolu Tolu Odukoya Ijogun is the new associate Pastor of the Church.
