BREAKING: Ganduje fires commissioner who exempted Wednesdays and Fridays from working days

Baba Impossible’ was found to be running the affairs of his office as personal business and even unilaterally reducing working days for the staff of the ministry, exempting Wednesdays and Fridays.

Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has fired his Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Dr Muhammad Tahar Adam, over what he termed “unguarded utterances.”

According to a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Mallam Muhammad Garba, the commissioner was running the affairs of his ministry as a personal business.

Garba said Ganduje has already forwarded the name of a nominee, Dr Nazifi Ishaq Bichi of Bayero University, Kano to the House of Assembly as a replacement.

He said the sacking of the commissioner who is also a member of the state executive council followed his unbecoming attitude as a public servant holding sensitive office.

According to him, the former Commissioner popularly known as ‘Baba Impossible’ was also “found to be running the affairs of his office as personal business and even unilaterally reducing working days for the staff of the ministry, exempting Wednesdays and Fridays.”

The Commissioner added that apart from operating without due consultation, Baba Impossible has not been loyal to the government.

The governor, the statement added, wished the sacked Commissioner the best of luck in his future endeavours.
