The governor was in the company of his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu, and his former Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie.

Before his arrival, a convoy from the Government House had reached the airport, heavily escorted by security personnel.

Fubara, sporting dark sunglasses, was welcomed by a crowd of supporters who had gathered at the airport as early as 6 a.m.

Among those present to receive him were prominent allies, including former Information and Communications Commissioner, Barr. Emma Okah; ex-Health Commissioner, Dr. Adaeze Oreh; Nigeria’s former Ambassador to the Netherlands, Oji Ngofa; former Environment Commissioner, Sydney Gbara; and Victor Oko-Jumbo, a past factional Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

President Bola Tinubu on September 18 lifted the state of emergency imposed on the state in March.
