Contrary to rumours on his demise in some social media sites and pages, the former Vice president, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, is alive and in fact recuperating from his ailment.
Close aides and family members of the former vice president, who spoke with TheNiche, insisted that he was in good health, as at Tuesday, November 8.
His former Special Assistant, a lawyer, emphatically stated: “There is no cause for alarm. Ide (Ekwueme ) is in good health. He is even improving.”
Our reporter however learnt that despite the media publicity surrounding the directive by President Buhari for the former vice president to be flown abroad for treatment, he is still being attended to in the country.
“We are still at the stage of documentation. He is still around”, another family member added.
Since last Saturday when Ekwueme took ill and was rushed to an Enugu hospital, speculations have trailed his actual state of health.
