BREAKING: Eden Hazard retires from football at 32

Hazard during his time at Chelsea won two PL titles, two Europa Leagues, an FA Cup and a League Cup

Real Madrid striker and Belgium international, Eden Hazard has announced his retirement from football at the age of 32.

Hazard who moved to Real Madrid from Chelsea in 2019, made this known on his social media page on Tuesday, October 10.

The Blues signed him for £32m from French club, Lille in 2012 and he made 352 appearances for the West London club, scoring 110 goals.

During his time at Stamford Bridge, he   won two PL titles, two Europa Leagues, an FA Cup and a League Cup

Hazard then moved to La Liga giants, Real Madrid, where is also won laurels in a deal worth a club-record £130m including bonuses.

However, he struggled with injuries and made just 76 appearances in four seasons for Real Madrid before leaving in the summer.

Confirming his retirement via his Instagram page, he wrote: “You must listen to yourself and stay stop at the right time.

“After 16 years and more than 700 matches played, I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer.

.”I was able to realise my dream, I have played and had fun on many pitches around the world.

“During my career, I was lucky to meet great managers, coaches and team-mates – thank you to everyone for these great times, I will miss you all.”
