Ifeanyi who only recently marked his 3rd birthday reportedly drowned in his father’s Banana Island swimming pool and was rushed to Lagoon Hospital on Bourdillon road, Ikoyi, Lagos where he died on Monday,  October 31.

An Instagram post by ace comedian, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY seemingly confirmed the incident in the early hours of Tuesday.

Makun wrote in the post, “The death of a child is unnatural, unfair and tragic. This hits me so bad.”

While some of his fellow entertainers like actress, Eniola Badmus and serial entrepreneur, Toyin Lawani posted the picture of a broken heart emoji on their social media pages which they later pulled down, others like former Big Brother Naija reality star, Dorathy Bachor, expressed shock at the news.

Ifeanyi’s death occurred four years after another singer, Dapo Oyebanjo aka DBanj lost his first child in a very similar circumstance.

The toddler was just over a year old when he drowned in a pool at his father’s residence in Ikoyi.

After the death of his son, DBanj shared a photo on his Instagram account with the caption; “Trying Times. But my God is Always and Forever Faithful”.
