Bayelsa Commissioner for Women Affairs, Elizabeth Bidei, is dead

Bayelsa State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Elizabeth Bidei, has died, according to a statement released on Tuesday by the Commissioner for Information, Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai.
In the statement, Koku-Obiyai expressed heartfelt condolences to Bidei’s family, particularly her husband, Jackson Bidei, and their children.
Details regarding the cause and date of her death were not disclosed in the announcement.

The statement read: “Our hearts go out to the bereaved family. Our prayers are with them during this profoundly difficult time of grief.
“Our sincerest sympathies and prayers are with her loved ones at this difficult time. May they all find comfort in the knowledge that Mrs Bidei’s life and work had a profound impact on our state and its people.
“As we mourn Mrs. Bidei, we will dearly miss her and her passion as a dedicated public servant and a loyal party person, who worked tirelessly to promote the welfare and empowerment of women in our state.”
