APC’s chairmanship nomination form sells N20m, as Buni’s aides, Akpanudoedehe return to secretariat

The first indication that the controversial National Convention of the embattled ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), may yet hold on Saturday, March 26 emerged on Tuesday as the party finally put a fee on the various positions.

National chairmanship aspirants will pay N20m each for nomination forms.

Aspirants for the office of the Deputy National Chairman will pay N10 million while other positions in the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party will attract N5 million each.

Meanwhile, after a week of the leadership crisis that rocked the APC, the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) has once again taken full control of the party secretariat in Abuja.

CECPC Secretary, Senator John James Akpanudoedehe, who has been loyal to the embattled chairman resumed work at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

Also at the Secretariat were the aides of the chairman, who is yet to return from his medical tourism abroad.

The party has been embroiled in a leadership crisis for some weeks ahead of its national convention slated for March 26.

Addressing newsmen before he left the APC secretariat, Akpanudoedehe said: “There is no trouble, no crisis in our party at all. I have released a statement which will be made available to you now.”

The statement has not been released as at the time of filing this report.
