Bovi said he stopped being Basketmouth’s friend after realising there’s a limit to how far friendship with the comedian can take him

Popular Nigerian stand-up comedian and actor, Bovi Ugboma simply known as Bovi has revealed why he is no longer close to his colleague, Bright Okpocha, a.ka Basketmouth.
The comic actor, during a recent interview with a media personality, Chude Jidenowo, stated that he is no longer close with the comedian because he felt it was time to focus on himself and his brand.
Bovi went on to say after noticing there was a limit to how far a relationship with Basketmouth can take him, he decided it was time to move on.

He later compared how their relationship was in the past and now, and concluded the period they were close friends was just a phase that is now a bygone.
”There’s a limit to how far certain people can take you, and the time will come when you have to get up and move on to break new ground. So that’s it,” he said.
“When asked if he misses their friendship, Bovi said, ”I think it was a phase, so now we are unto new phases, that’s it for me. Priority changes as we go every day.
“Right now, I just want to do things that make me happy and make sure that my immediate constituency is happy, which is my family, so priority changes,” Bovi added.
Prior to this interview, another comedian, Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY had during a chat with the same host, explained why he and Basketmouth fell out and how his effort to reconcile the two of them was frustrated by the latter.
He also alleged that Bright deliberately omitted his name from the list of guests invited to his wedding in 2006.
