Blessing CEO deactivates Instagram page after discredited stage 4 cancer claim, businessman demands ₦20m refund

Controversial influencer Blessing CEO has deactivated her Instagram account following intense backlash after a medical doctor on Arise News debunked her claim of having stage 4 cancer, describing the medical report she presented as dubious.

The development came after Blessing CEO appeared as a guest on Arise News on Saturday, where she defended her earlier assertion. However, when a medical doctor on the panel requested to see her medical result and she obliged, the doctor declared it fake, noting that the signing physician had disowned the document.

A prominent businessman, Alafaa Kariboye-Igbo, popularly known as Oil Money and CEO of Karid Oil and Gas Limited, has demanded a full refund of the ₦20 million he donated to her.

Blessing CEO had earlier claimed she received only ₦13 million in donations. However, hours later, Kariboye-Igbo countered her statement, revealing that he personally transferred ₦20 million to her. He shared a receipt of the transaction and, in a strongly worded caption, accused her of fraud and living a “fake life.”

His caption read in part: “Madam, you better return our money. You can run, but you can’t hide.”

Through his counsel, Gideon Ugochukwu Chambers, Kariboye-Igbo issued a formal demand letter dated April 3, 2026, giving Blessing CEO seven days to refund the full ₦20 million.

The letter stated that the donation was made under the representation that the funds were for cancer treatment, only for it to be discovered that the claim was “false, misleading, and fraudulent.” It warned that failure to comply would result in legal action, including reports to law enforcement agencies.
