Bishop Oyedepo justifies celebrating birthdays once in a decade

Bishop Oyedepo marked his last birthday on September 27, 2021, when he turned 67, with his assertion his next birthday celebration will be in 2031

Nigerian preacher and founder of the Living Faith Church, better known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has disclosed why he celebrates his birthday just once in ten years.

The Christian author and one of the most affluent men of God in Nigeria, in one of his recent sermons, said he is too busy to celebrate his birthday annually, adding that he forgets his birthdays due to his very busy schedule.

The 67-year-old gospel preacher, also argued that anyone who intends to reach great heights in life must work hard, stressing that a lot of people are lazy and focused on just subsistence in life. 

In his words, “For lack of time, I can only celebrate birthday once in ten years. Any other day that you greet me regarding birthday, you are on your own.

” Only hard workers emerge as high fliers in the race of life. People are so lazy today that food is their uppermost priority. They sit down around food as if it is their enthronement”.

Bishop Oyedepo celebrated his last birthday on September 27, 2021, when he turned 67, with his assertion, his next birthday celebration will be when he turns 77 in 2031.

His church, The Winners’ Chapel is located in over 300 locations in Nigeria, in several cities of 45 African nations, Dubai, the United Kingdom, United States, Europe, Asia, and, Canada.
