Bishop Bada charges Afa Okeagbe traditional ruler on value addition

The Bishop of Akoko Diocese, the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Rt. Reverend Jacob O. B. Bada has charged Oba Mofolorunso Samuel Adegboyega Arasanyin, Okeladeokin Arole Agba 1, the Ajana Afa of Okeagbe Akoko to use the position of first class monarch and academic prowess to add value to the traditional institution as well as attract development to his community.

Bada dropped the hint on Sunday during his sermon at the thanksgiving service held at St. George’s Anglican Church, Okeagbe Akoko, the headquarters of Akoko North West Local government area of Ondo state.

The State Governor. Hon Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa had made the presentation of the Staff, instruments of office to the new paramount ruler, Oba Mofolorunso Arasanyin at the Ajana Afa Palace in Okeagbe.

According to the cleric, to whom much is given, much is expected. For the people to entrust their traditional stool to you is a big call for service and good leadership, you must not disappoint the trust and confidence they bestowed on you.

He said the first-class status of Oba Mofolorunso Adegboyega Arasanyin was a pride to both the Afa Okeagbe and Okeagbe community as a whole and appealed to him to carry his community along in the scheme of things.

Bishop Bada also urged the people of the community to always support and pray for the traditional ruler for peace, progress, and development of the community.

He however charged Okeagbe Akoko Community to unite together as one saying that unity, love, peace was imperative to development.

“Kabiyesi your rieign should bring development to Okeagbe Akoko such as Educational development, Infrastructure development among other things. And there should be a program that will bring together all the sons and daughters of Okeagbe, like the forthcoming Okeagbe Centenary Anniversary. And you should also build on the legacy of Guy Girguilo as well’, the Bishop added

In his remark, the new monarch, Oba Arasanyin thanked the people of Afa Okeagbe community for their show of respect and loyalty before, during and after the presentation of Staff of Office to him by the governor.

The traditional ruler stressed that his doors were open for them, and further urged them to also co-operate and support him for a successful and peaceful reign.

He prayed that the existing unity and peace which had brought developments to the community would be sustained.
