The United States President, Joe Biden on Monday called on Americans to ensure they resolve their political differences through the ballot box and not bullets.
TheNiche had earlier reported that 20-year-old Thomas Mathew Crooks attempted to assassinate former US president, Donald Trump on Saturday.
The incident took place at Butler, Pennsylvania, during the Republican presidential candidate’s campaign rally..
Reacting to the incident via his official X page after initially condemning the act, Biden urged Americans not to degenerate to the level of turning politics into a “killing field”.

The Democratic Party’s candidate in the upcoming presidential election went on to say disagreement was part of human existence.
He also extended his deepest condolences to the family of the victim who was killed at Donald Trump’s rally , saying “he was a father protecting his family from the bullets being fired”
Speaking via his verified social media page, Biden tweeted: “Disagreement is inevitable in American democracy.
“It’s a part of human nature.
“But politics must never be a literal battlefield or – God forbid – a killing field.
“We must stand for an America not of extremism and fury but of decency and grace.
“In America, we resolve our differences at the ballot box. Not with bullets.
“Jill and I extend our deepest condolences to the family of the victim who was killed at Donald Trump’s rally – he was a father protecting his family from the bullets being fired.
“We’re also praying for the full recovery of those who were injured.”
