France international and Bayern Munich defender, Dayot Upamecano has named his compatriot and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star, Kylian Mbappe as the best footballer in the world right now.
Upamecano made the assertion while talking to talkSPORT, even though he and his Bayern Munich teammates were able to keep Mbappe at bay during the Bundesliga side’s 3-0 aggregate win over PSG in the Champions League last 16 double header recently.
Bayern Munich in the match had an easy ride over the French champions in both legs of the round of sixteen of the European elite competition, even though the Parisians lined up world-class stars such as Neymar Junior, Sergio Ramos, Lionel Messi, Mbappe and others

However, despite their Champions League exit, Mbappe has been in sensational form this season, scoring 31 goals in 35 games across competitions.
Upamecano while assessing his French teammate said he brings balance to a team and that his positioning and body language on the pitch is next to none.
He said: “It’s much easier to have him in your team. You have to always be well balanced, ready to move in any direction; to be vigilant, watching his positioning on the pitch and also his body language.
“He is the best player in the world – he is extraordinary.”
Bayern Munich after eliminating PSG will be facing Premier League champions, Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League quarter finals at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.
The two elite teams will also square up a week later at the Allianz Arena in Germany to determine who will move to the semi finals stage of the competition.
