Bundesliga giant, Bayern Munich and three other European clubs have booked their spots in the quarter-finals of this year’s Champions League (CL) after Wednesday’s fixtures.
Other teams who joined them are Serie A club, AC Milan, English Premier League side, Chelsea and Portugal outfit, Benfica.
Prior to yesterday’s games, Chelsea on Tuesday had beaten Borussia Dortmund 2-1 on aggregate to advance into the rounds of 8.
Similarly, Benfica put five past Club Brugge to book their place after they had initially defeated them 2-0 in the reverse fixture, qualifying on a 7-1 aggregate score line.

On Wednesday, Bayern booked their place with a 2-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain.
Second-half goals from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Leroy Sane in Germany confirmed their progress.
In the reverse fixture at the Parc des Princes, they defeated PSG 1-0, they, therefore, advanced on a 3-0 aggregate scoreline.
Tottenham Hotspur, however, crashed out after the second leg encounter between them and AC Milan ended 0-0 in north London.
The Serie A side qualified with a 1-0 aggregate, having edged past the Premier League club at San Siro.
Eight more clubs will jostle for the remaining four spots next week to bring the total number of the teams in UEFA CL quarter-finals to 8.
