Bayelsa commissioner’s kidnappers demand N40m ransom

-

Kidnappers of Bayelsa State Commissioner for Local Government, Madam Sarafina Otazi, have demanded N40m ransom for her release.

Otazi was kidnapped at gun point and forcibly taken away on December 20 at Otuoke while on her way to Ewoi Community in Ogbia Local Government Area for a funeral.

The kidnappers, according to her family member, had established contact with them and are demanding a ransom of N40m to set her free.

The family member, simply identified as Frank, Tuesday in Yenagoa said the family was relieved to hear from Otazi and appealed to the kidnappers to free her unconditionally.

Otazi had also served as Commissioner for Women Affairs and acting chairman of Ogbia LGA.

Also, the whereabouts of Governor Dickson’s younger sister, Nancy Dickson abducted less than 24 hours before Otazi was whisked away remains unknown as the duo spent Christmas in the kidnappers’ den.
