Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, has described the late former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Garba Gadi, as an honest and trustworthy person.
The governor in a condolence message yesterday said that he received the news of Gadi’s death with shock and sadness.
“Alhaji Garba Gadi was a very honest and trustworthy individual. He was to me a father figure and positive influence. He was a thoroughbred politician who made remarkable imprints on the progressive political landscape of Nigeria,” he said.
Governor Abubakar prayed Allah to repose his soul and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
“May God grant his family, the entire people of Bauchi State and the progressives family the fortitude to bear this monumental loss and may he rest in peace,” he prayed.
Gadi died in an undisclosed hospital in India on Tuesday after a protracted illness.
