Bauchi group hails govt’s programme on anti-social behaviour

-

The Anti-social Vices Committee in Bauchi State has supported the newly introduced policy of the Federal Government aimed at checking anti-social behaviours among Nigerians.

The committee’s President, Malam Abdullahi Ali, made the remark on Thursday,  while speaking with newsmen at the headquarters of the committee in Kofar Dumi ward in the state capital.

Ali said that the new programme tagged: “Change Begins With Me,” could not have come at a better time than now when Nigerians, need total overhaul of character and behaviour to move the country to greater heights.

He said that since the establishment of the committee in 2011, it has so far impacted positively in the fight against social ills in the society, particularly the menace of Sara Suka.

The president said that the group operates 24 hours every day with support from philanthropists and individuals to assist security organizations to successfully discharge their responsibilities.

Prior to the commencement of their operations, Ali, recalled that some hoodlums almost caused the disruption of  normal business activities in most parts of Bauchi metropolis as they brandished weapons and attacked anytime they wished.

Also, a patron of the committee, Alhaji Suleman Dugoliya, commended the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleman Adamu, for reminding the state governor during his sallah homage on the need for government’s support to the committee to enable it discharge its duties effectively.

Suleman Dugoliya also expressed concern on the recent fictionalization of the committee and called on all aggrieved members to mend their differences and work towards fighting all forms of social vices in the state.
