The two-year deal with Barcelona marks Flick’s first coaching role outside of his home country.

Announcing his arrival, Barça in a statement said, “FC Barcelona and Hansi Flick have reached an agreement for the German to become men’s first team football coach until 30 June 2026.”

Prior to this development, ESPN reported in 2021 that Barcelona president, Joan Laporta sounded out his availability while he was still in charge of Bayern.
