Suspected bandits have killed the Acting Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Katsina State, Amadu Surajo, along with three others during an attack on Mai Rana village, Kusada Local Government Area, on Saturday night.

Surajo was the state secretary of MACBAN before his elevation to acting chairman following the mysterious disappearance of the former chairman, Munnir Lamido, in June 2024. Lamido went missing after leaving his residence for Kaduna State and has not been found since.

Security operatives have since been deployed to Mai Rana village to restore peace and investigate the attack. The deceased, including Surajo, were scheduled for burial on Sunday morning in accordance with Islamic rites, while those injured are receiving treatment.
