Bandits Kill 15 again in same Kaduna LG where they murdered 50 three days ago

-

Giwa local government area of Kaduna State has become a den of bandits where they operate unchallenged and kill as they please.

Bandits have killed at least 15 villagers in Hayin Kanwa village in the Yakawada ward in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on Sunday.

The bandits had murdered at least 50 persons in the same Giwa local government area of the state three days ago, indicating a failure of security operatives to checkmate the bandits.

According to reporting by Daily Trust, a Kaduna Vigilance Service (KADVS) member in Giwa local government who craved anonymity, said that the victims were buried today.

He said the situation in Giwa local government is getting worse because people are being killed daily since last Thursday.

“The situation is terrible because 15 more people were killed at Hayin Kanwa just yesterday (Sunday) night by bandits. Since on Thursday, these bandits have been attacking villages killing people said,” he said.

Another resident of Giwa local government, who simply identified himself as Ridwan, told Daily Trust that bandits storm the village frequently.

“They came into the village shooting sporadically which led to the death of these people. Do you know that the dead bodies couldn’t be evacuated till this morning?” he said.

He also added that the bandits were more interested in killing people than abducting them.

Another resident said some of the victims were buried at Tashar Sharri, close to Hayin Kanwa, adding that the death toll might increase.

The newspaper said that Giwa Local Government Chairman, Abubakar Shehu, could not be reached on phone.
