The massacre of several villagers in Plateau appears not to be the only barbaric act carried out by terrorists on Christmas day.

Plateau has always been in the news for clashes between Fulani and indigenous people. But lately, those clashes have given way for well coordinated attacks by terrorists. Christmas has always been their prefered days for attacks. So, it happens that on the same day the terrorists killed over 100 plateau villagers, they also extended same treatment to a village in Sokoto where a mother, her daughter-in-law and two children were burnt alive.

The terrorists were said to have attacked Kurya village in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State around 8:30pm on Sunday.

A resident of the area, Yusuf Garba said one of the abductees lost her husband during the attack.

“Among the victims were one woman who was burnt to death along with her daughter in-law and two children right inside their room,” he said.

According to him, the attackers were later engaged in a fierce battle with the army.

“We are suspecting they too suffered heavy losses because we saw blood stains in where they parked their motorcycles. But you know they don’t leave their corpses behind,” he said.
