Bamiloye warns against Valentine’s Day, another Pastor seeks ban on the celebration

At least two Pastors have lately warned against the celebration of Valentine’s Day today which they condemn as celebrating sexual immorality introduced into the world by the kingdom of satan to recruit souls to hell.
Earlier this week, Osun government distributed free condoms to residents and advised them to avoid unprotected sex during Valentine’s Day celebration and to prioritise safe sexual practices.
A statement signed by Osun State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS (O-SACA) Executive Secretary, Olusegun Daramola, announced that free condoms and lubricants would be distributed at selected malls and lounges across the state to promote safe behaviour.
He said Valentine’s Day celebration is an opportunity to promote awareness and prevent HIV/AIDS which remains a significant public health threat, making it important for people to avoid unprotected sex.
However, Christian filmmaker and founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, Mike Bamiloye, has taken a different tack, raising the alarm on Valentine’s Day celebration.
Another Christian Preacher, Charles Ighele, asked for a ban on the celebration altogether.
Bamiloye warned that many young girls and ladies would be used for money rituals and fluids of men would be submitted tonight in the shrines of the evil kingdom.
He asserted in a post via his Instagram page on Friday that many lives will be destroyed today following the celebration of the so-called Lovers Day.
“We will keep shouting! Many would sleep on the same bed tonight with ghosts and spirits from demonic kingdoms who had come to make vows and covenants with the sons and daughters of men,” he wrote.
“Blood would flow tonight. Blood shall be exchanged tonight on covenant beds. Fluids of men shall be submitted tonight in the shrines of the evil kingdom.
“The fortunes and destinies of many young girls and ladies would end up tonight in shrines of money rituals.
“Destinies and fortunes and meaningfulness of life shall be polluted this evening, and by tomorrow morning, many shall wake up empty and shallow and light.”
Pastor seeks ban on Valentine’s Day celebration in Nigeria
Ighele, General Superintendent of the Holy Spirit Mission, Ikeja, Lagos, went further by calling for a ban on the celebration of Valentine’s Day in Nigeria.
He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the day has been misconstrued for the promotion of romantic relationships, rather than its original promotion of aid to the needy and humanitarian works.
He described Valentine’s Day as a deception from the devil to impose a universal day of immorality on earth.
According to him, many boys, girls, and married people have bought into this lie about love against the agape love described in the Bible.
His words: “The day is associated with a romantic demon known as cupid. This demon is one of the rulers of the darkness of this world as found in Ephesians 6 verses 11 and 12.
“Cupid is the Roman name for the Greek god of love known as Eros. The English word erotic has its root in Eros.
“The dictionary defines the word erotic as relating to or tendency to arouse sexual desire or excitement.
“The celebration of the day inspires sexual feelings on people and spreads sexual entertainment in order to further institutionalise sex.”
Ighele insisted that cupid influenced humans to set aside February 14 as a special day for them to do whatever they want with sex and the perversion of true love.
“The Bible tells us that ‘God is love’, and it is very certain that God will not want His type of love celebrated this way,” he stressed.
Ighele urged the authorities to proscribe the celebration of Valentine’s Day because of its bad influence on youths, arguing that it is the duty of the government and other stakeholders, such as church, school, and family to unite to promote social redeeming values.
The ban on Valentine’s Day celebration would redeem people from destruction, he added.
Valentine’s Day, also called Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is celebrated annually on February 14.
The day originated as a Christian feast day honouring a martyr named Valentine, but has become a cultural and commercial celebration of so-called romance and love in many regions of the world.
Although Valentine’s Day is not a public holiday, it is considered a cultural and religious celebration of romance in the Catholic Church.
In spite of its popularity in many nations across the world, there are some countries where Valentine’s Day is not celebrated, mostly owing to religious beliefs.
