Badenoch identity politics has zero implications for Nigeria, says Moghalu

A former Central Bank of Nigeria Deputy Governor and President of the African School of Governance, Kingsley Moghalu, has weighed in on the controversy surrounding the identity politics controversy of UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch.
Badenoch has been trolling Nigeria before and after becoming leader of the UK opposition Conservative Party.
Her persistent bashing of Nigeria elicited a pushback from Vice President Kashim Shettima who took a swipe at her for denigrating her country of origin.
Moghalu, posting on his X handle, advised Nigerian leaders and Nigerians to focus on fixing Nigeria’s problems instead of claiming Kemi or bashing her for denying and denigrating the country.
He said: “The bottom line of the @KemiBadenoch identity-politics controversy around her Nigerian origin is this: even if she were to become the UK Prime Minister tomorrow morning, it would have absolutely ZERO implications (or benefits even) for Nigeria and Nigerians.”
